Invokes the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful, before beginning recitation. Every important act in Islam begins with Bismillah.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
